Ainslie House

Ainslie House is a reimagining of the original home on this site, conforming to its heritage location. The internal spaces contrast the cool exterior with warm tones and natural timber used throughout.

The original home on this site was demolished by the ACT Government as part of the Loose-fill Asbestos Insulation Eradication Scheme, which offered to buy and demolish homes affected by dangerous asbestos insulation.

The new build abides by the conforms of its heritage location by occupying the same footprint (127 sqm) and mirroring the external appearance of the original home.

The internal spaces contrast the cool exterior with warm tones and natural timber used throughout.

Super Collection hardware, co-designed by Sans-Arc Director Matiya, is used throughout, and gives the reinterpreted home a distinctly modern element.
